Steven Häsler
I work on computer vision and machine-learning systems for scientific imaging, spatial computing, digital health, and precision agriculture.
About Me
I am a senior computer vision engineer and researcher. I work on image-processing and spatial-computing systems, from early prototypes to deployed software. My projects have covered agricultural, astronomical, and medical imaging. I am currently working on computer-vision methods for reconstructing modular furniture.
Current research project
I am deputy project lead on the Innosuisse-funded ModulAR project. It combines computer vision, machine learning, and AR to capture modular product structures and support reconfiguration, repair, and refurbishment.
Project page at ZHAW →Computer Vision & Deep Learning
Detection, segmentation, super-resolution, and 3D reconstruction, built around the constraints of the data and deployment environment.
Imaging & Spatial Data
Processing pipelines for astronomical, medical, aerial, multispectral, thermal, and spatial data.
Backend & ML Infrastructure
APIs, data pipelines, containers, and asynchronous processing for machine-learning applications.
XR & Spatial Computing
AR systems, spatial reasoning, and shared representations for technical and non-technical teams.
Selected Projects
Work in scientific imaging, precision agriculture, digital health, and spatial computing.

Spatial Reasoner
A cross-platform framework for deriving symbolic spatial relations from oriented 3D bounding boxes and running reusable inference pipelines in XR applications.

AR Patterns
An open platform and shared design language for planning, implementing, and documenting event-driven augmented-reality experiences.

CanopyCover
A drone-imagery pipeline for precision viticulture that converts multispectral and thermal captures into calibrated maps, canopy metrics, water-stress indicators, and GIS-ready layers.

Vineyard Disease Classification
A field-image pipeline that filters for usable leaf captures, then classifies grapevine health conditions across nine visual classes.
